Saw this on Antiques Roadshow. I’m not a huge typography wonk, but I do appreciate good typographic design.
I absolutely love the small-caps of the Doves Press Bible. SMU has one in their collections. Next time I’m in Dallas I’m going to see if it is on display.
As far as I know, this is Carter’s first recognizable drawing. He worked on this and told me it was a basketball player (while we were watching a World Cup game, but oh well).

Halloween was a week full of fun stuff this year. As you two, our dynamic duo was a fire “chief” and his trusty puppy dog. Loads of memories and candy until next year!
Tuesday was Carter’s first day of pre-school at Young Children’s World at our church, Highland Church of Christ. This is his second year for pre-school and I am so excited to see what he learns this year. His teachers are Teacher Holly and Teacher Shea. Most of his friends from last year returned and he has even made some new ones. I pray for him each morning that God will help him to have a good day of learning and that he will show kindness to someone that day.
Grammy and Boppa came to visit one weekend and Carter got his birthday present a little early. A brand new Thomas the Tank Engine Bike (with training wheels, of course). “I sure am a big boy, now!”, he says.

Sweet Finley,
You are 10 months old and we can’t believe how much you are growing daily. Your sweet little personality brings us so much joy and entertainment. You babble all of the time with three legible words. You can say “Momma”, “Dadda”, and the newest word for Carter, which he thinks is cool, is “BaBa”.
You love blowing raspberries and clicking your tongue. You are pulling up all over the place and just the other day, I thought you were about to take your first step, but chickened out. You and Carter love playing crawl chase and I must say that you are quickly learning to out-crawl your brother. You laugh and laugh at Carter all of the time, especially when he drops something or is acting silly.
We started Kindermusik today and you had so much fun. I think you are going to be creative and musical. I hope and pray that you all that you want to be and that you explore everything that is in your path. We will try our best as your mommy and daddy to encourage, love, and support you and your dreams.
We love you more and more each day and pray that you will know this love is everlasting.
