Yesterday, Carter and I went to Brownwood where my family lives. We decided to take a day trip and surprise them. My parents and my sister were all home and they were very happy to see us. They spent the whole day passing him back and forth.
He was fed by Paw Paw, laughed with Grandma, and played with Aunt Tracy. Oh yea, there was also some time spent posing for pics with Aunt Tracy and the dogs.
Carter had a really great day. In spite of his busy day, he napped and ate well and was the happiest I’ve ever seen him. Maybe we will go to Brownwood more often!
I’m sorry it’s been a while since I’ve blogged. I have had my hands a tad bit full. It seems the older he gets, the more attention he needs. Funny how babies work! I am loving every minute of it though.
Since our road trip to Arkansas for Christmas, it has been fun seeing him develop and grow more and more each day. We try to wake up at 7 am each morning and we eat. Then we play by staring into the mirror/toy that he absolutely loves.
He just smiles and giggles at himself and my reflection. It was so cute, it brought tears to my eyes one day. He also loves his floor activity gym where just talks away to his friends (a monkey, elephant, giraffe, and parrot).
We then attempt to take a nap after playing, but sometimes we don’t quite make it (not a good napper!) I am trying very hard to keep him on a schedule. He does best on a schedule. I think he’s getting it down. We certainly have good days and bad days.
I am still breastfeeding, but have chosen to pump for each feeding and feed him through a bottle. He just seems more satisfied that way. But I miss him at the breast. We snuggle every once and a while. We had only been feeding him about 4-5 ounces until I talked to my cousin who suggested we try 7 ounces. I was concerned that at almost 12 weeks, he was not sleeping through the night. It turns out that we have not been feeding him enough and he would wake up twice each night at 3 am and 5 am to eat like clockwork. I would become so frustrated because I was not ready to wake up at 5 am. The first day and night we fed him 7 oz., he slept from 11:30 pm to 5 am. This is a start. (Thank you so much Kara).
He is a good baby. I love staying home with him and have made it official. I never thought in a million years I would get the privilege of staying at home with my children. God has blessed us so much and we are praying for continued blessings.
We have lots of new pics as he is growing cuter and cuter each day.
All these photos are in the January photo set
Happy 2 month birthday! You are constantly changing every day. This past month has been so much fun watching you grow up right before my eyes. Your little personality is coming out and I must say you have inherited some stubbornness from your mommy. But, what I love the most is your sweet expression on your face when I come into your room in the morning and pick you up from your crib. You seem to be a morning person when you coo and wiggle with happiness right after a good nights sleep. Your daddy and I do not know WHERE you get this from.
Speaking of your face, you have started smiling this month and not just after to have passed gas! You definitely know who mommy is and your smile is most precious right after we eat. You can track objects with your eyes and follow mommy and daddy across the room. This makes us both feel very needed and also happy.
We love you twice as much as the day you were born. I love holding you and will never pass up the chance. Please don't grow up too fast and remember you'll always be my sweet boy!
